In order to give you an insight into what to expect during your first appointment, we have created this Q and A section.
How long will my initial appointment take?
Your initial appointment will take between 45 – 60 minutes, depending on the complexity of your problem. Please discuss your requirements when making your appointment and our staff would be delighted to advice you as appropriate.
Should I arrive a bit early for my first appointment?
Yes, prior to your appointment, you will be asked to fill in a form about your general health. This is an important part of the assessment as it enables our Podiatrist to give you the best possible advice.
What would should I expect from my first appointment?
The Podiatrist will review your medical forms and give you a complete foot examination.
What happens in the foot examination?
During the foot examination you will be asked to discuss your concerns regarding your health as they relate to your feet. The Podiatrist will complete :
- Neurological assessment (check your ability to feel pressures on the soles of your feet and toes) and
- Vascular assessment (this means we check the blood flow in your feet).
Will the Podiatrist do or suggest anything else during my initial appointment?
Following an assessment of your feet and nails, a treatment plan will be agreed with you and initial treatment carried out.
